I talked to the owner a couple weeks ago and made a request of her. After a little discussion she agreed to do it and beta test it on our servers. I am expecting it to be ready this week. You guys are going to love it.
RSS2Blog is going to get so much better.

*Sigh* Same old shibbles. This argument won't hold up much longerOriginally posted by baddogRSS2Blog is one license for unlimited domains. You can do the math as I don't know how big your network is.
I look forward to seeing whatever "this" is, if it's even remotely useful we've probably thought about it, and it's already in beta for a feature release, or planned for the next version. If not, it can be added within days depending on what "it" is.
As I have said a number of times, they are different.
One posts out, one posts in, one isn't dynamic, one is.
I would recommend looking at the features of both. If you have any questions pop me a message (or mrkris) and I'd be glad to show you what ABP is capable of.
Competition is good.

Is the only plus RSS2Blog has going for it, is it's unlimited domain pricing? That seems to be the biggest selling point they focus on anytime it's mentioned.- Free Premium Domain Lists and Tools at Clickmojo.com

Not hardly, but I am not selling it. We looked at both and made our decision based on facts. I would suggest doing the same.
The only thing I have heard that ABP does that RSS2Blog doesn't is the ability to change the author's linking code to your own. This is not a feature that I would ever use and I can understand why it would piss someone off.Comment

I'm thinking your reason was just the cost.

And yeah, with a network of sites as large as ours ABP would have to have a ton of features that RSS doesn't to justify the cost.Comment

Quality over quantity. Have you once hit either Chio or myself up to ask about pricing? Sure, it will probably be more based on what your network size is, but there is a reason we have clients that are using multi-hundred licenses instead of using RSS2Blog, so we can't be TOO badOriginally posted by baddogThat feature has been mentioned often enough that one doesn't need to visit their site to know it.

When you first posted you "Heard" this it was a lie, it was NOT possible so you lied, or someone told you a lie. Now with the new rewriter it can be done, but only if you're a rocket scientist with regular expressions.Originally posted by baddogThe only thing I have heard that ABP does that RSS2Blog doesn't is the ability to change the author's linking code to your own. It's something that I was against putting in, but the benefits of Rewriter being able to use regular expressions far outweigh it's possible missuse.
Autoblogger Pro is a tool, like any tool it can be used in ways not intended by it's producer.
Should we not buy hammers, because we could potentially kill someone with one.

I read your post before the feature was changed. You said you "heard" it could do that then. It couldn't.
Read what I wrote again. I didn't say anything about what you chose, or when, simply that what you said, when you said it, was a lie.
Should I search for the post?

That feature definitely pisses me off and I wish Chio would just get rid of it altogether.
ABP worked just fine without that. Doing it this way is the equivalent of selling a photo or video editing program that will remove the copyright holder's watermark from the pics or movies.
We bitch all the time in this industry that surfers get everything for free and that sites like Fusker steal our shit and let surfers get it all for free....but then we create software for webmasters to use that promotes theft from other webmasters, so that they won't have to do the work of creating their own text content.
Kind of fucked up.sig too bigComment

I happened to be one of the first batch of users to test ABP and so far it has benefited me in many ways. I ended up purchasing 10 licenses and have been doing fine with it. Hell, I am content with the very first version of ABP. I don't have the time to play around with so many features that the latest version of abp comes with.

Don't worry D. I won't give it away.
PS Baddog you have way too much time on your hands. The search only goes back to 500 of your posts which isn't nearly enough as you seem to post that in a day.
I'll hit texas dreams up to use his super mod skills to find the post in question.
Out for now.

I haven't even bought it yet, but I don't think you should cripple it on purpose. It'd be a can of worms I think. You'll end up chasing a long line of things someone MIGHT potentially do with it. It should remain as a testament to how powerful and flexible it's feature set is.Originally posted by ChioAs I said to you in ICQ I am trying to come up with a compromise for the feature because from the beginning I wanted to make sure ABP was used properly, and due credit was given.- Free Premium Domain Lists and Tools at Clickmojo.com

That's the exact argument for keeping it. It's a very powerful feature, and it would be a waste to remove it, or disable it because someone, somewhere may use it to change links.

Sure I understand where you're coming from, and I'm just lobbying you publicly and privately to not sell software that makes it easy for people to plagiarize us without giving us credit and leaving our links intact.Originally posted by ChioThat's the exact argument for keeping it. Something you could do for starters is leave the default "Original Article syndicated via RSS from SITE NAME" and leave SITE NAME linked to the original site.
I'm sure there's a way you could code that in and not let someone remove it without having to remove the feed altogether.
That's the "very least" you could do.
