My friend got it done recently and he is not allowed to stare at a computer screen for more than 2 hours a day for 2 weeks or so. Can you handle that?!?!
Had it done a couple months ago, and all I can say is badass!
Did it on a Friday, was back on the computer 8+ hours on Monday.
Only down sides were that my eyes watered like a bitch about 1 hour after the surgery when the valium wore off. Wasn't painful, just uncomfortable. Also I had a funky smudge effect in my left eye that was only noticeable on a close up computer screen, went away in about a week. My low light vision seemed very hazy for the first week, everything has cleared up now though. I highly recommend it! Just make sure you go to a reputable doctor, none of that bargain Lasik shit. I went to Schwartz laser eye center in scottsdale, he does all the phx suns and az diamond backs guys eyes.
BAM!!
I had it done... I can see now... lol... So far I can see a lot clearer and crisper than before - its like wearing contacts, but a bit better, and not having to actually wear contacts!
It should be a lot better tomorrow too!
As you can tell I'm already on the computer, and I got back from the doctor at around 2.30PM... I slept for about 4 hours, the valium makes your drowsy.
Now im actually about to go driving and get some dinner ... HAHA...
You arnt even supposed to be out of bed for the first day.
The shit was nuts... you lie flat on your back, and they put this suction ring around your eye which pulls it tight and you can't move it, and it ends up going black so you can't see anything.
Then the next thing you hear is:
"We've engaged the laser, the flap is now being cut, I need you to remain absolutely still."
LOL... it was pretty crazy... i was fucking scared of not moving... Im fidgety by nature, and just knowing that if i moved a FUCKING LASER WOULD BURN MY EYE was nuts.. lol.

Cool - what about pain - during and after the procedure?

No pain at all during the procedure... was nothing at all.
Afterwards at home, when i was trying to sleep, i did notice my eyes were burning a bit... probably because the anesthetic was wearing off... had trouble falling asleep because of that, and also that I couldnt lie on my side at that point or my stomach.
Once I woke up, the burning was gone, and that's all there was to it.
The burning itself isn't that bad... just makes you want to rub your eyes to make it go away; but of course you can't.

Good to hear - I may be able to pluck up the courage to get it done myself now
