Marion Gaborik is my favorite, when healthy he is one of the best goal scorers around and he plays on a very defensive team. Hopefully he signs a 1 year deal this time then splits for another team where he can score 50+ a season.Comment

Being from the Buffalo area I've always been a Sabres fan. Growing up (born in '76) my favorite players were guys like Dave Andreychuk and Phil Housley. Then later on there were guys like Hasek, LaFontaine and Mogilny but my favorite player right now would probably be Ryan Miller. He kind of reminds me of Hasek with the way he just kept the Sabres in a lot of games this year. He's going to be great for a lot of years...Comment

One of the most underated players in the history of the game is Valery Kharlamov from the '72 Canada-Russia series. Had he played in the NHL he would have been a huge hall of famer. Same with Tretiak their goaltender.
NHL/WHA favs of mine would be, in no paticular order.... The Esposito brothers, Bobby Hull, Ken Dryden, Bobby Orr, Derek Sanderson, Guy Lafleure, Yvan Cournoyer (corn-why-eh), J.C. Tremblay, Goaltender Gump Worseley (my dad grew up with the Gumper in Montreal), Frank & Pete Mahovlich, Darryl Sittler, my fellow Manitoban Bobby Clarke, and a host of others.
In recent years, like the past few decades, I'd have Gretzky and Lemieux at the top of the list for sure.
