    The "Tarantino Murders".

Did any of you hear about the "Tarantino Murders" that took place in London, England? I'm sure everyone from the UK has heard about this. It's not very big news here though. The main thing that grabbed my attention was when I saw the headline "Tarantino Murders." I was like, wtf, what can that have to do with Quentin Tarantino. Seems like a really silly name to give such horrific murders to. I don't know of any Tarantino film where the characters stabbed someone horrendously 200 times. I believe it was the British media that gave the killing this name. How moronic. I believe they were mainly referring to "Pulp Fiction." A film whose violence is all off camera.

They're probably referencing Resevoir Dogs... particularly the scene where the police officer is tied to a chair and tortured. I could be wrong, though.

Yet oddly for a country with no worry of "gun violence" it is a wee bit ironic that Harrods sells designer bulletproof clothing.

About 1 in 500 people in the UK have probrably ever even been to Harrods, who cares its a shitty little novelty to help sell clothes, I really don't see it as ironic. And who said anything about our country having no worry of gun violence, where did you get that from? People are killed in gun crimes in the UK, just a hell of a lot less then in the USA. Gun crime is still a real issue and in rough areas, people still worry about it. Maybe this small table will be of interest to you:

                      Gun deaths per 100,000 population

                      USA (2001)
                      Homicide: 3.98
                      Suicide: 5.92
                      Other: 0.36

                      England/Wales (2002)
                      Homicide: 0.15
                      Suicide: 0.2
                      Other: 0.03

                      Scotland (2002)
                      Homicide: 0.06
                      Suicide: 0.2
                      Other: 0.02

It is pretty clear that they need to outlaw all silverware in the UK. What kind of sick society allows people to legally own cutlery which can be used to harm people. Stop the madness now!

The cop in "Reservoir Dogs" wasn't stabbed 200 times. His ear was cut off.

The scene they showed in the news was the scene in "Pulp Fiction" where those three male college students were murdered. I don't know for sure if this is how the media got the label or not though.

I did think of that scene in "Reservoir Dogs" BTW. DamageX I did not get anything confused. That wasn't the point though. Even that scene in "Reservoir Dogs" isn't anything like what happened in real life London. Really, how on earth did the media come up with that label? It really is moronic.

Ah, ok, gotcha. On further research, it appears these murders were titled as such since an investigator compared the level of violence of this event to that of Tarantino's films in general.
