Ya ok I accept it I am wierd. I do have a few shakeable flashlights and a couple handcrank flashlight radio combo's. Then again I still have some oil lamps and plenty of candles too.
Only reason I brought this up was I was on vacation in a small town north of here. It had zero cell reception at all with my carrier at least. So naturally my phone died super quick as it wasted its battery trying to find a signal. The small hotel (yes very small 6 cabins) did have clocks in the room yet somehow it got unplugged. I tried calling to get the time and well heartbreak.

Gotcha I was in Northern MN a few weeks ago and we had no TV, telephone or internet at the cabin and only one of the 3 cells worked. Of course the one without internet. It was serious torture. I remember way back we could call "time" and as a kid we used but only to set clocks and stuff. Now I use the cell for that too.
