It's amazing how people can tell they're religious being an adult industry participant

As for the difference - catholic church pays more attention to: the fact of Virgin Birth and God's Mother; the doctrine of the purgatory - a place between the Hell and the Heaven; a homage of relics, a cult of martyrs, saints and blessed.

                    Eastern Orthodox Church
                    ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Orthodoxy )

The Eastern Orthodox Church (encompassing national Orthodox jurisdictions such as Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, etc.?see Eastern Orthodox Church organization) is a body of Christians that claims origins extending directly back to Jesus and his Apostles through unbroken Apostolic Succession. Its doctrines were formalized through a series of church councils, the most authoritative being the Seven Ecumenical Councils held between the 4th and 8th centuries. These councils were convened out of the necessity to resolve conflicts that had developed concerning beliefs such as Arianism, Nestorianism, and Monothelitism. Toward the end of its first thousand years of existence, differences developed between the Church in the Eastern and Western Roman Empire that ultimately led to the Great Schism in 1054, dividing Chalcedonian Christianity into Western Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.

Based on numbers of adherents, Eastern Orthodoxy is the second largest Christian communion in the world after the Roman Catholic Church, and the third largest grouping overall after Protestantism. There are approximately 215 million Eastern Orthodox Christians worldwide.

The Catholic church believes that there is a hierarchy in the Holy Trinity; The Holy Spirit, The Father and The Son.

The Orthodox church believes they are one in the same... or; to put it better, on equal ground.

The Catholic church believes that Mary was born without sin.

The Orthodox church believes that it is impossible for Mary to have been born without sin, this would mean she wasn't human.

i am not sure about the reason - catholics and orthodoxes had a fight about that too before they made at least some kind of deal, but they are still not very friendly. We hoped that the new pope will try to make things better, but i can't see the results.

"Divorce and Re-Marriage - Catholics have been allowing divorce since Vatican II. However, Catholics who divorce and re-marry without observing the Church's canons are denied the Communion. At an Orthodox wedding, you get a "crowning ceremony." This joins you and your spouse in spirit. You can get divorced and remarry, but you only get one crowning ceremony. Re-marriages, as I understand it, are just a formality to allow procreation."

"Statues and Crucifixes - Orthodox use "Icons" for prayer, which are two-dimensional, painted and blessed "windows into heaven." They are also two dimensional because icons are to portray spiritual truths and not to focus on the physical. Catholics use 3D statuettes of Christ, the Theotokos, and the Saints. This is forbidden by Lev. 26:1.

3-D renderings of Christ are strictly forbidden. Thus, Orthodox do not wear crucifixes. We also have jewelry depictions of the Crucifixion, but the Corpus is generally two dimensional and flat. "

Following largely Augustine of Hippo, the West believes, although has never declared doctrinal, the view that we somehow inherit the Sin of Adam, and not just the consequences of that sin. The Orthodox Church has always held that Original Sin is about the consequences of Adam's Sin (how can we be responsible for someone else's personal sin?). These consequences are basically death, concupiscence and our tendency toward sin in our nature.

As a result of this view, the West has declared the Mother of God to be Conceived Immaculately, without the Sin of Adam and to have been assumed into Heaven body and soul.

The Orthodox Church has always believed that the Mother of God is the highest person above all humanity and the angels owing to her role as Mother of the Word Incarnate. She believes that the Mother of God was perfectly holy and most holy and sinless."

What was the original : Catholics? And orthodoxes developped from it with the help of Apostle Andrew?

Orthodox is hardly related to just Judism. There are many Christian Orthodox religions.

Really? When did this happen? I was raised Roman Catholic and they never said the Holy Trinity was not of equal status. However, since whenever they are mentioned together in prayer, I would have to say if there was a hierarchy it would the The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

[...] The West decided to add "And the Son" which is a philosophical conclusion, without warrant, in fact, in Scripture or the Fathers. It was not so much Orthodox Rome that adopted the addition to the Creed, as it was the Frankish theologians of Charlemagne [...] This addition to the Creed in the West led to the eventual break between the two Churches beginning in 1054 and solidifying finally at the Sack of Constantinople in the thirteenth century by the western Crusaders [...] In general, the role of the Holy Spirit Himself seemed to be downplayed."

Prior to the Great Schism of the Western Church from the Eastern Church, Spanish Christians (who held the hetertical teachings of the priest Arius) held to and taught that the 2nd Person of the Trinity mediated the procession of the 3rd Person of the Trinity thus diminishing the prominence of the Godhead (the 1st Person of the Trinity as 'Father')! Rome eventually accepted this error and maintains it to this day in their Credo, "And I believe in the Holy Spirit...Who proceeds from the Father and the Son...".

Notice how this differs from the Orthodox or True Credo: "And I believe in the Holy Spirit..Who proceeds from the Father. And together with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified..." Christianity believes in One God not two or three! All comes from the Father. The Son is a generation of the Father ("begotten of the Father") while His holy Spirit is a procession of the Father ("Who proceeds from the Father"). God the Son who became Christ (as both fully God and fully Man) only mediates between the Father and all of His creation. Christ does not mediate within the Triunity of God rather Christ (2nd Person of the Trinity; The Son) is obedient to the Father (Godhead). "
