Thanks JKF.

Good news is the doctors woke Eva early this morning into a 50/50 conscious state to assess her injuries. She could move her legs at the knees and aware of what she doing. She was semi conscious for an hour they then put her back to sleep. They may repeat that tomorrow if she's fine. She is making as good a recovery as can be expected.

The damage to her lungs is not as bad as they feared, her abdomen is badly bruised and there was blood and fluid there which has been removed. She has a tear in her liver which they think can heal or be repaired. Her spinal cord is swollen and they will not know if it's damaged until the swelling goes down, she has fractures to multiple vertebrae. These will need to be dealt with soon as possible. Eva is still on an assisted breathing machine and is breathing fine with it.

She is in Traumatology, which is like intensive care. I saw no one in there in a conscious state. There are more doctors and nurses than patients. There are all the machines and things required the standard is excellent.

That was the good news.

The bad news is I have to expect Eva to be a different person for two years. This was in reply to my question on how long she would be in Traumatology and in hospital, they have no idea when she will be moved from where she is and she is still in danger from a relapse or infection.

He then told me they did not operate on her until 2.00 Sunday morning because when she arrived at 6.40 Saturday night they did not expect her to live. I was too shocked to cry.

Tomorrow I will put my head into the office and make sure everything is fine and have a meeting with the accountant. Business goes on.

Frank if you want to know why I have shared this and I really don't care what you think. It's because I have a lot of friends here who read the board and might not post and it helps me to share it. Non committal sharing seems to ease the load.

Really strange, especially when I have wondered why others did the same.
