If you're going on a trip, you can buy a prepaid emergency cell phone which works for nothing else but 911. In fact in the US, all cell phones are (were when I sold them anyway) required to work for 911 even if they have no service attached to them. You can trash pick one and keep it for 911.

Just take you phone to any convention, (Xbiz, Phoenix Forums, Internext, etc.) and set it on a table, turn your back for 5 seconds to say Hi to someone, then turn back around..

Poof, no more phone problem... Worked well for me this past Xbiz.

My own damned fault for "trusting" that I could turn my back for 5 seconds....

Well, yeah ofcourse I do. But I don't get mad when people don't pick up. I can fully understand why they didn't pick up, they simply didn't want to talk to anyone at the moment and wanted a moment of privacy OR they didn't want to talk to me at the moment (which I can also respect).

But when I do that, some people then say "Why didn't you pick up the phone?". Well, why the fuck should I? I'll talk to you whenever I want. How about the times you didn't pick up when I called?

I think phones are a fucking invasion of privacy. I'm sure everyone once in their life has been harassed by other people via the phone. When you were just asleep, some idiot dares to call you at night, and then say "Oh sorry, did I wake you up?". No shit, motherfucker!
