              My 4 year old daughter just got her own library card last week, so I was kind of pissed after seeing that story.

                      However, it's not the laws / rights / whatever setup for the people you have to worry about; it's just the PEOPLE you have to worry about.

                                  Yes, but there are many, many, many people who would love to take those rights away from you. The ACLU has fought diligently to stop them from doing so.

                                          don't get me wrong. i think the ACLU is a necessary evil... much like politicians and politics, the center is most often defined by the idiots at the extreme ends of the spectrum. they are usually at one end, defending murderers, racists and pedophiles etc.

                                              Anyway, it is not your right to HAVE an opinion that is the issue. It is your right to EXPRESS that opinion that is the issue in this thread.

                                                  ACLU has proudly defended NAMBLA among other groups of people and individuals that should be rounded up and murdered in the most brutal way since their inception. I dont like it... i do however understand that its necessary in a free society to do so.
