I hear you on the bandwidth issue however it is a reality that youporn is probably burning way more bandwidth than you, and your affiliates are having to compete with that.
It's getting to be like this: Affiliates are needing to do some hotlinking to compete for traffic with these mega tubes and if sponsors can't help them do that then they are not going to be sending any real traffic.
In the real advertising world (out side of porn) companies would be begging for us to hotlink their videos with their branding on it. It's free advertising.
So I think there is going to be some new affiliate models comming in the future and hotlinking is going to be part of the model.
I can tell you right now, and nothing against the way anyone here does business, if
I can't hotlink then I'm simply not using the sponsor. I can't compete without it.
There are several sponsors that I really did good with that I can't really use now and
that sucks, but that's how it's going.
Youtube has people hotlinking their videos by the millions and it will be only a matter of time before some sponsor rises to that level. The sponsor that does that first will surely dominate.
