My dog tries to hump my leg all the time or if im laying down even my shoulder, but the stupid thing has never had sex so how does it know what humping is? Its a girl dog as well so what does it expect to get out of humping a leg?

My oldest neutered male has done the dominance humping of the other dogs since I got him 11 years ago. He never has humped anything else and even now with his hindlegs completely disabled, he will still try to hump the other dogs using the dog he's humping to prop him up ;) Then the other dog walks away and he falls over. I get amused so easily.........Comment

It's not a dominance issue. They're just horny, and even if they've never had sex before, it's an innate part of their nature. Kind of like how spiders know how to spin a perfect web without ever having been taught. It's just hardwired into their genetics.Comment
