    daily-hot-babes.com is a thief

Takes copyrighted feeds, hotlinks, removes affiliate codes and removes any links pointing to the site the feed was taken from.

    Hmmmm....

The wonderful world of autoblogger pro. I quickly sold my domain and stopped using the software after getting c&d's from using copyrighted feeds. The website just made it sound like it wouldnt be a big deal

        edit:
chio is still cool imho, but the other guys running the site and software suck

Don't forget that software has the cloak feature to appease the irate webmaster who had the text stolen, but still allow that information to be viewable by the se's.
A feature I think they should discontinue, but what do I know

All content is to be considered copyrighted unless it is clearly stated that that is not the case. Providing an RSS Feed changes nothing about that.

Of course, fair use is possible, but taking content whole, changing it and then altering it to suit commercial needs goes far beyond that.

Nothing wrong with using RSS feeds, but it's best to always request permission beforehand, and changing content and linking codes is never ok.

I'm surprised there are still people in this industry who do not "get" intellectual property...

A feature that should be pretty easy to get around and that should allow the site-owner being ripped off to get the thief to be banned by Google, dropped by his host and found guilty in court.

I found another site using that autoblogger pro and stealing RSS feeds and changing out the affiliate codes to their own. What I use for my wordpress RSS feeds is this plugin http://blog.taragana.com/index.php/a...ss-atom-feeds/

This plugin adds a copyright message to your feed items. No customization is required. This acts as a deterrant to feed-stealers (you heard the word first here) who unscrupulously and blatantly displays your full feed contents (often with their own advertisements) in their site(s) without your permission.
Not sure yet what to do about the cloaking though.

hmmm, i bought it, but havent installed or used it yet, i wasn't going to do something like that with it anyway, but what about using it to make a site of various feeds based on a central keyword and leaving in refcodes and a link back to the original source?? anyone think that would be unethical?? it's for mainstream too, what i was thinking of using it for.

Good question... I think the idea is that rss feeds are self-updating content that will bring you more SE traffic, therefore bringing more attention to YOUR ads on your site.

I don't use rss feeds so take it with a grain of salt.

I, for one, would have absolutely no problem with that. Sites doing that also benefit the sites they use feeds from, so everyone's a winner.

i think some of these spam blog thieves have a distorted view of fair use. is ripping a whole feed - with attribution or not - and changing the ref. code "fair use?"

are your uses for non-profit educational purposes? are you only using a partial amount? and does your use hurt the market value of the intellectual property?

for 99% of these spam blogs ther answer to the first 2 is no and the third is yes.

first the feds cracked down on spammers, now on spyware installs crap and in the future intellectual property thieves.

all it will take is a few mass media stories to break to throw law makers into a tizzy.

you all shit on guba, but are silent on this. funny that.

I don't use rss feeds so take it with a grain of salt.
i made a question regarding this on another thread. dunno no one answer. if i change the refcodes to my own codes but gives them credit for the entry is it still stealing? this whole thing has a gray area.

                                                                      Oh, and bump.

like writing a thesis for example, you take from other credible source their point of view in order to portray your POV. Referencing is important and i think he should have at least gave u credit for the post. But If i was trying to portray a message, i would edit it as i see fit to get my message across. but then this would fall under interpretation.. and we all have our own opinion.

advertisements... i believe that if he was promoting the exact same sponsor, then i dont think thats fair. but if its to another similar sponsor.. then he is just providing to the readers what his beliefs are based on facts he took/refer from your site.
