American Idol. Does anyone care anymore?

I don't think anyone with half a brain ever cared. American Idol epitomizes our society today, and the new generation of teenagers.. In other words, it's all a joke. I myself am only 22 but I have seen a steady decline in generation after generation in terms of tastes in music. You go from 60s-80s, almost 3 decades of classic music, to boy bands, shitty rappers, hot women who have nothing to contribute but a good voice, etc. Put American Idol on in the 80's and it would flop. Music today is a joke and it's been dead for 10+ years.

To be 100% honest I only watch the "auditions" to laugh at people...I guess that makes me a bitch!

After that I don't care to hear the sound of Simon Cowell's annoying voice! But hey, that's just me....

See, I can't sing for shit so I don't go out of my way to sing in front of millions of people on tv.

So it's all fair games!

I'll admit I dig the show when it begins, solely for the "train wreck" aspect. However, in regard to this season, I think all the finalists suck ass and the music they're singing sucks even more.

It's purely a singing competition. Taylor Hicks plays guitar... and his moves don't look so goofy when he's holding one.

I have never been a big AI fan...like ya'll said, just the begining during try outs...then my interest trickles away, but then makes a small comeback for the last 5 min of the final eposode so that I can know who won. Lol

I agree American Idol is a lame show, but you'd eather the youth be purely influenced by MTV musically?

Ironically, American Idol is the only mainstream outlet exposing this generation to music from great past artists (from when music was real).

Otherwise, these kids would never even know these past artists even EXIST.

Its just a numbers game and a business, and the producers and network are laughing all the way to the bank each week.

usually i dont give a shit after the auditions but this year, i fell in love with Taylor!!! hes so humble, hes funny, charming, down to earth, and a voice thats like a mix of Joe Cocker and Stevie Wonder. Hes incrediable. Not to mention those eyes of his, sometimes its like lookin in the eyes of Elvis.
