    Another friday night on the puter, who's all drinking?

    After taking the week's cheques to the bank, paying the bills, making the rounds, I walked over to Safeway with le doggy, and we picked out some baddass steaks and stuff for the barbecue, came home and cooked up a storm, ate like kings. I've been sippin wine ever since, and just got online to check emails etc. I'm just wondering if we're going to make this an "every weekend" thing where we all drink while we post.

    So, who's all drinking? What are you drinking? WHY are you drinking? Or.... why AREN'T you drinking?

                  Weinhard's, 'cause it was only $5.99 for a twelver and my frickin' rent jumped up to $1100 (and I live alone).

If you lived here your rent for a VERY nice one-bedroom apartment would be about $500 per month, which works out to about $370 USD. I own rental property, and for my best single apartment I charge $500 per month, and that includes everything except for the phone bill. (Yes, cable tv is included).

                      I'm sucking back some nice white wine from BC called "Mission Ridge", a semi-dry, very nice bouquet, lovely aftertaste, and it heats up your insides like no tomorrow

                          Yeah, Henry Weinhard's is crap beer. Well, not crap beer. Not good beer though.

                          God I wish I had $370 rent. Cali's killing me - not just the rent, I simply don't foresee owning a home here. Median home price rose from $265K to $315K in one year. It's a joke.

                          Ah, see there I might have you beat. I'm north of San Fran in the Sonoma Valley. It's crush season here and got an invite to one of the boutique vineyard's crush party tomorrow. This is when they pull out the GOOD stuff - none of that tasting room wine. Other vineyards in the area should be showing up to, bringing some of their stuff.

                          Tomorrow's forecast: 87 degrees and sunny, fine wines and a little BBQ - maybe some golf after.

                                  I feel like a youngin' but in 12 days(my birthday is oct 24) I will finnaly be 21 and I will be joining all of Ya'll in your Drink and Post fun.

                                  I feel like im getting old.. I mean it was just the other day it seems that I was just a tot with no problems and nothing else to do but watch cartoons and play with all my toys.. oh wait.. I still do that.. hmm..                                           And there's your $1100+ dollars per month rent right there. That's why it's so expensive there in a nutshell.
                                          The cruel irony is this weather blows in my book. It rains here, for gods sake, and it gets damn hot at times in summer. Been here for 5 years, the 5 years before that I spent in school in Santa Barbara, which is like living in a shopping mall. It's 74 degrees every day, slightly overcast mornings clearing up arond 2pm. Everyday.

                                          I lived there on the Pacific ocean. Literally on it - pic attached (any other Isla Vista'ers here?). And all this for $350/month - which, granted, was to share a room. Like I cared.

                                          Now I live here, pay a ridiculous amount of rent, and worst of all have to work!!

                                          This is probably why I drink.

                                              Heh.. I never said I dont drink. I live by myself so shit.. all I need is to find someone to stock my fridge up every once and awhile and Im set.

                                              I just ment, being able to buy my own drink and what not. Plus not to mention clubs and bars will be my destination for awhile..

                                              It will be nice to be able to walk into AMPM and grab a rack or a few 40's without having to make it a beer run.. In other words grab beer and run.

                                                              Go to mapquest.com - enter your address and get the map. If you're lucky (which you probably will be for LA) there will be an 'Arial Photo' tab right above the map. Click, zoom, move, whatever - just like the map service. That pic I posted is actually zoomed out one level.
