    Dialers and their promotion?

    Hello,
Just wondering if it's allowed to state on a page that a dialer *.exe is a freeware product etc.. I know that the word "free", as in "you don't have to pay in any way to use it" is a forbidden word, but freeWARE has a bit different meaning (as in "it can be freely shared among friends etc).. And english is not my 1st language so it's kinda hard for me to figure this out from some reseller's TOS page..
    help please

Most of them state that you cannot
use the word free at all in the
ad. I would assume this means all
    variations of the word.

Why the fuck do you dialer people want to find new creative ways to FOOL the surfer into downloading your dialers ?!?

I have never understood that for the life of me ...

And then it is the SAME buch of you fucking crybabies that want to know why everybody hates dialers and dialer people ...

You ever hear the cliche about one bad apple ruining the bushel ??

YOU my friend, ARE that apple !!

No you can not promote a dialer as freeware because it is not.

Freeware means it is free to use and a dialer is not. A dialer gives you a very high phonebill

Therefor promoting it as freeware is fraud and not allowed.

See people it is realy not that hard answering a question like this without a flame

Wolfshade....... wow......... hey we did it....... we have a dialer question here and no flaming......... kinda cool huh?

dane..... the way I run mine is this:

you use the word free in anyway shape or form and I shut you down. The software may be free but the use of it is NOT and promoting it as such can cause YOU not to get paid and the dialer company you are promoting can then be fined or even shut down. So the use of the word free is a major no no.

I have seen alot of folks trying to skirt around this issue in some manner or another and the use of the word free anywhere in the vacinity of most dialers will cause you not to get paid for the work you have done. We can't have that now can we?

Well, as ever, there's lots of black and white answers to a grey issue here. For example, it's entirely within the bounds of acceptability according to the FTC (well, strictly speaking, some lawyers who predict what the FTC's view on something might be) to promote a dialler as being FREE* if, for example, the first two minutes of the call are free. You'll probably have seen this sort of promotion on psychic services and so on. Problem is that this sort of thing will lead to even higher chargebacks than usual..
