What an incredible machine. I still have a hard time believing how cool it is. The $2800 were well spent.Comment

I got a plugin for my mac but can't remember where I got it. If you do a search on Yahoo for windows media plugin for quicktime there is one result that pops up called Flip4Mac and I think that's what I got. I can play .wma and .wmv file right in Safari. Hope that helps...Originally posted by napI got the Macbook Pro and love it! First mac so its still new to me. Any work around for getting safari to play embedded windows files?Comment

I love everything about my Mac and yes Safari kicks some serious ass. I like how when you hook something up to a Mac it just works. No searching and installing drivers like on a PC. Like they say, once you go Mac, you never go back. Okay, no one really says that but what the hell, maybe they will now.Originally posted by EquinoxDamn Safari is so swift at rendering websites, it beats the shit out of IE even.

I had one, used it. Found it nice enough. Unix framework made it ok for java programming etc, but .. dunno.Originally posted by hezochiahI love everything about my Mac and yes Safari kicks some serious ass. I think (even more now w/ intel under the hood) using macs nowaays is a preference only: In the pat you were definitely one or the other, now you just choose which OS / hardware you prefer.
Until I can boot XP natively without OS/X on the system at all, I'll stick to windows machines

Though the best alternative is to run XP (natively) in a MacOSX window just when you need it through virtualization:

You running photoshop from rosetta? I am curious what the speed is like with non-native apps. My whole workflow is Photoshop and Final Cut, cant make the jump to the intel machine if there is a speed issue.

From what I read, there is an Intel native Photoshop compilation out already. No need for Rosetta anymore. Other than that, the apps that do run their PPC code on the emulator, don't seem to be slow at all.Comment
