it all depends where your site "pulls" the videos from, and when you play the videos the quality/speed depends on where YOU are locad (in relation of the hosting site) + the speed of your connection + your hardware

on the sites that I have I embed either form sponsors or other tubes, the trick is to have a good mix IMO, that way if sponsor A goes under or they remove their movies you won't have to start building your site from scratch and just remove say 5% of your movies

if you want to play around with tubes get the nubilies free tube script (get it from the webmaster's area) which is 100% free, then add embed movies from other sponsors and you're good to go. It is a very decent script and I like it much better than another one I purchased.

I also have a few tube blogs - wordpress with embeded movies (only thumbs on the main page, the pages with the movies open in a new window) with a plugin which rotates the posts so the surfer is presented with new movies on the front page every day
