Some of the webmasters that I've been chatting with have expressed disappointment and concern over the quality of the material that is available from other suppliers at this time. 1) I think restricting the usage will restrict your business more than anything. The only people that truly care about exclusivity are review sites. Our promise to Twistys members is we try to bring them the hottest content available regardless of exclusivity. If I have a set in Twistys it means they don't have to join another site to get that content. Everytime we've had the discussion with members they tell us they prefer having a hot non exclusive set in the members area as opposed to not having the set at all. It's common sense.
You will have webmasters complaining that Twistys, MediumPimpin or Dollars4Babes is pushing the content harder than they are. We've had a few photographers that sold us semi exclusive come back and complain that we were too good at promoting content that other clients complained when they sold it to us. I really think trying to restrict content will increase your headaches more than anything. If a paysite doesn't want content that Twistys has they should pay your full day rate
I know you are a busy guy and the last thing you want to do is police how many pics the people you sell to are using. I would either do members area only or full online usage rights. I wouldn't offer the two options because tracking who has which rights would be a bitch. Matrix actually burned alot of bridges 4 years ago with this exact issue. Ask Nick and Kev about it. Matrix thought they could bully their top clients and got burned by the end result. I think your potential for business is better if you do full usage rights. You'll have more people interested and then you can charge based on a supply/demand model.
2. We provide both. There really is no standard right now. Even the HD we get is in different formats. A real pain in the butt. I would stick with what you are most comfortable with.
3. Raw Footage. Getting raw footage allows us to maintain consistency in our members area. Everybody has a different quality, size, format standard. Trying to make everyone happy will drive you insane lol.
