Ever heard of a little thing called a "term of office"?
You make it sound as if the war weren't happening, we could somehow just tell Bush to go fuck himself.
He's in there 'till 2004 at least. He doesn't have to worry about staying in office - therefore this war has no bearing on "keeping" him in office.
And anyone who thinks that's the reason he's doing it really needs to step back and get a look at the bigger picture.
