I'm still submitting galleries and making nice amount of sales.. Also submitting free sites is really good for SE. So get some submitters, give it to your affiliates to let them submit galls/freesites promoting your paysites. (of course you can control what urls did they submit to make sure they aren't promoting other sponsors with your license) ;)
