Rafa Nadal Wins Over Federer to Take Wimbeldon Title
What an incredible Men's Tennis Final at Wimbledon...the final score was 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7.
Congratulations to Rafael Nadal for finally defeating Roger Federer on grass, whom had won the tournament five times in a row (including wins over Nadal in the last two Wimbledon Finals).
It was a marathon match, nearly five hours of playing time, which was interrupted twice with rain delays - so the total time on court (and for spectators, such as myself, who awoke at 6am to start watching), the match lasted over 7 hours.
First Spain wins their first Euro Cup Soccer title in 44 years, and now their first Wimbledon Men's title in 42 years (since 1966).
Must be some wild celebrating amongst their sports fans.
Nadal, the 3-time French Open Champion is also the first person in 28 years to win the French Open and Wimbledon in the same summer (Bjorn Borg was the last person to do that in 1980).
