I don't want to get in to a pissing match either.
There's some simple facts that can't be overcome though when you compare a cruiser, any cruiser, to a pure sportbike.
Things like weight, aero dynamics, rider position, weight distribution, etc, etc. I suppose Harley could make a sportbike, but then, well, the comprassion is totally moot.
Baddog said he doesn't even think he could get the Ninja to wheelie. With all due respect, if you're a good rider (and I assume BD is), you can make any modern sportsbike pull the front wheel with the clutch. The newest bikes will easily do it on power alone. Christ, my bike will wheelie power only through most of its gears, not just the first one or two.
Cruisers are just a different style, they don't go as fast and they're not meant to.
Reminds me of that PINKS episode where the guy loses his Harley to an old Suzuki and is utterly shocked at being blown away. Makes me chuckle each time.
