    Info on "ThePirateBay.org"

Do any of you know these guys? Anyone have contact with them? I'm seeing alot of pirated sites on here that some of you pay site owners may want to take a look at. Chances are they are stealing from you.

If you guys already have a topic on this, maybe you could point me out to a link.

    Either way, thank you!

There's not much you can do I'm afraid, unless you have better legal teams than these corporations:

You cannot touch them their laws in sweden are different from the U.S as the torrents are not hosted in their servers either.

There is sites in the USA that not even the government can touch.

And they are very cocky about the fact that they can't be touched. The best that you can hope for is that potential members don't pay any attention to torrent sites. That site has some of my things there too but there is shit that I can do about it.

P2p media distribution is here to stay, guys. Nothing any of us can do about it. Rather than fight it, kicking and screaming, go with the flow. Try and find ways to make it work in your advantage. I think there's a lot of potential for marketing.

I've been curious as to how paysite owners feel about downloading music. When situations like this happen, it is stealing, however downloading music is sharing. Im not saying either is right, but it is all very relative.

From what I understand music sharing actually helped record companies make more $$$ since the times of napster. THey would loose money if an album was all they have to offer. However, we all know that artists make money...the real money...in concert tours...as do the guys who sign them, etc. In reality the sharing only makes people want to go see them live.

I believe it's the opposite with a solo site where its content is its bread and butter. If that gets taken and distributed in full via torrent or whatever the case may be....it loses $$$ Why join when you can get for free. Right? Not like you're going to see the girl live and THEN she will make money. A site has nothing else to offer other than its content.

                      I could be wrong

no your on the right track, however this is a question of digital media ownership not wether or not the owners benefit. Either Sharing copyrighted material should be legal , or illegal, not a pick and choose type deal. Someone who downloads music has very little room to condemn those who distribute site rips like this.

I think its bad for everyone, affiliates, paysite owners, models, everything, but the fact is you cant pick and choose what media is "ok" to download.

Well the thing....in my opinion of course....is that Sharing music SHOUDN'T be illegal, because it profits the artists. If you want to rip my site and I know it will benefit me...I'll PAY you to rip it!

It's really comparing apples and oranges not as the law dictates them but if you go by what REALLY occurs in profits. Sharing music is in reality REALLY good advertising for artists. They can really use it to benefit them. Sharing site content via whole site torrent files...well...I haven't thought of a way of making that work for me yet

I guess what I'm really trying to say is that the law should really apply to visual media only....not audio.
