The few times I've been to church in the last decade, when my mother was visiting who is religious, I started laughing uncontrollably, in the middle of the Gospel reading and had to quickly dart out cause I was laughing so hard.

I know plenty of church-going folks who are non-judgemental and actually pretty good people to be around.
