              Just came accross epassporte

              It looks good

You get a "virtual" Visa Card.....

Not so good for getting payments I assume.... but great for people with problems getting a real Credit Card for making payments.

You can get an account by signing with Flashcash, this means you dont need a credit card to open your epassporte account

They are a great sponsor as well......

Epassporte works for accepting trans from otherwise blocked surfers/countries. That's the surfer-side/revenue advantage.

But... for the webmaster, epassporte offers instant real-time P2P (peer-to-peer) transactions globally from any epassporte account to another. With the Electron card you can then withdraw money at any Visa/Plus ATM in the world. It's cheaper that PayPal and unlike PayPal, epassporte is a global product. Gobal issuance and global acceptance.

Yahoo and HSBC Bank operate Yahoo Pay Direct. Same setup as Paypal, only your funds are insured...because you're dealing with a real bank.

You are still covered with PayPal. They have FDIC 'pass-through' insurance up to $100,000.

Yeah...but what happens when Paypal decides they want to close your account and keep your funds? I've heard of that happen many times.

I use Paypal and Paydirect. Both do the job, but more people use Paypal so it's the obvious choice. I've been scrwed by PP 2 times now for small amounts. 3 strikes and your out.

Can you transfer money from an Epassporte account to a savings/checking account?

If paypal closes or freezes your account they have so many days to fund you the money. Unfortunately this is a long period of time. I have heard of people getting their money frozen but in my honest opinion I think they were violating the Terms of Service.

                            Other P2P systems:

E-Gold.com -> No chargebacks! But have to fund/withdrawl through a 3rd party using exchange rates. Or opt for them to send you the gold. They also do Platinum, Silver, and other metals. My small balance has almost doubled just because of gold being valued more.

Epassporte -> Never tried it out myself but looks promissing.

MoneyBookers.com -> Will accept people from paypal banned countries but in return are very stricked and require ID documents.

PayDirect -> Yahoo's attempt at PayPal, tried it but not enough people use it in my opinion.

Personally I would use E-Gold.com if you could since there is 0 chargebacks once the money/gold is in your account its yours. But if I had to choose a different one it would be Epassporte, seems they have a few minor acceptance issues but once those are worked out will be a very nice system. Wish they would build a gateway so merchants could debit a persons Epassporte account =)

Paypal can and will freeze your account for any number of things. While I am not going to say anything else about them at the moment just rest assured that you don't have to do anything wrong for them to kick up the fraud filters, which is FINE by me, but their standard handling of the situation leaves a good bit to be desired.

epassporte does compete directly with Paypal on many levels, the ability to tranfer money via an email address type setup is one of the most important.

With epassporte you do not have to wait 60 days to get the virtual or the electron Visa card and you can be from nearly any country in the world -- the exceptions I believe being Iraq and Iran.

Other people (sponsors primarily) can also load your card for you, offering you instant access to your funds via an ATM or thru spending the money online immediately

Your right they don't have a bank behind them and for good reason. They don't have any currency (funds) to deposit only gold do some research on the difference of gold and currencies you will understand that if they had $1million US dollars in a bank and gold prices went up they would lose money because the $1million dollars wouldn't be able to cover the account holders gold balances. Your account value is not based on a countries currency but the current price of GOLD. It is GOLD that is traded and last time I checked banks don't balance your account in the amount of gold you have

You can send $1 USD very easy but your amount of gold in your account is debited in the value of gold at the time of the transaction. Basically they convert the USD to how much gold is required for you.

Well said but what happens when they, a Nevis Corp, vanish? What is your "insurance" that you will get anything at all. Do you really tink they have gold someplace or are they just playing ponzie with deposits?

Anyone posting her could create a similar website, create an off shore corporation and go into the payment business. They might even be for real, do you know? I don't think I would have much faith in their online numbers unless I had the gold or currency in my hands.

On a side note I believe you can request a withdrawl from them and they actually send you the metal.

But your right there is a risk involved just like banks however it is nice to see FDIC insured on a bank. But my one question I can't seem to answer myself is what type of insurance could they carry? If they have every ounce of gold or gold certificates for each account how can your account go "zap/poof" only the market value of the metal could do that which is a risk you take for any investment. Guess the best way to find out if they are on the up and up is check out the 3rd party escrow agent they appointed.

I am not promoting them but I do have an account and feel rather safe, actually more safe then with paypal.

As a reason for declining it says my bank doesn´t support CVC2
allthough I did fill out the CVC2 code which IS printed on the back

Moneybookers are a lot better now. Those things happened months ago.

Their fees, and their prices for wire transfers (free to upload money, and 1,80 to withdraw) are the lowest I´ve ever seen. Do you know something similiar?

They have some work to do, if they want to get more US users, but to european users, they are really great.
But even for US merchants, they are a great option to pay those affiliates that are in countries where PayPal doesn´t have bank agreements.
