I wasn't being specific about terrorist events. Hell, I wasn't even being overly sensitive to this particular story or overly singling out the US media. Would feel the same about the UK, Canadian, whatever, press.

Also, anything with a possible terroist slant is going to be used in the US and UK media these days because everyone is on the edge. Hell you can't have someone have someone stub their toe and not have someone ask if there were terrorists involved - that is on both sides of the Atlantic.

I would rolls my eyes similarly at a story about a huge earthquake where it had to be pointed out in the headline that an American or a Brit or a Mexican ..whatever..was killed in order for people to care? I would also roll my eyes at the stories that don't include terrorism that get 10 seconds on US national news if anything at all.

So, you said excluding the middle east but out of my own curiosity anyway I will ask how much coverage 200 some people dying in the plane crash in Iran got in the US? Honest question.

I wasn't being specificly critical of the US..just the journalist decission. Living in a journalist household and having been one myself for a bit I tend to do that.

so..again this was not a war specific show of frustation, it wasn't a US specific show of frustration. It was just a show of frustration with the editorial choice and human nature in general. oh btw..19 are dead.
