On the gun side - the majority of people with guns are amateurs and more likely to cause more damage because they are amateur. This includes having a gun removed from them and being used against them blah...
The other side of the coin are the idiot element with personality disorders who need guns to prove their.. relevance, sexuality or whatever.
May be worth chatting with qualified (*actually* qualified - they do exist) law enforcement or *qualified* people specializing in personal security.
