Just launched my site: cleantgp.org

I've been collecting advice, reading threads and generally gleaning information from here - thanks to all who have spoken to me and contributed - and have finally "bit the bullet" and launched my site.

The basic premise behind it, for all who are wondering, is that it is a clean TGP (hence the name) - that is to say, there are NO adverts, NO popups and NO other crap: just the galleries i upload.

So how do i [try to] make money? Simple: i ask for donations (like the cheapskate i am) and also attach the affiliate's URL to the enlarged image - so that if the user clicks the image, they get sent to the affiliate and hopefully sign up.

Could i please ask for your opinions? Feel free to rip into it as much as you like, and thanks in advance.

Holy shit, what are you thinking? There are so many things wrong with your site I don't even know where to begin. Lets start with your intended mentod of making money...paypal. You DO know that paypal doesn't allow adult transactions of any kind, right?

I was thinking, as i said on the site, people might be willing to donate for a lack of having adverts and other shit pushed in their faces. Yes, the PayPal decision was probably wrong - and can be taken down quite easily.

As for it being the only method of making money - it isn't. The primary method is via sponsoring an affiliate, whereby if a user clicks on the large gallery image, then they are sent through to the sponsor.

Out of interest, i would appreciate it if you could point out the other holes in my site.

Dude concerned you won't make any money off this. At the very least program in alt text so that users in Firefox and Internet see "Click here for more!" when they hover over the large gallery pics...

I like the concept and think it could work but maybe make a signup area with a little custom bought content that you own,and maybe a forum? I had the idea to make a forum about sexual things. People love to talk about sex as much as they love doin it, so I figured it would be something to bring in signups. Just an idea I was kicking around. Anyway I like the design too and hope it goes somewhere for you

I did have that thought, as well as some kind of blurb below each large image pimping out the sponsor, but then would that be seen as advertising and so go against the main idea of the site?

Sounds like a really good idea - thanks. The forum idea certainly seems like a goer: the content idea would probably have to wait until some revenue is coming in though, but thanks again.

Tell the truth. I never saw this kind of site named in TGP. I can't see how to gather traffic and I can't see how will you earn money. I can't see any benefits of TGP. Maybe you sould open a "submit a gallery" and "trade traffic" for other webmasters.
Anyway it's still a good begining. At least you own a site. :P

I just visited...basically what I saw was one or 2 galleries spread out in a funky format...unless that's just Safari acting funky. Either way, maybe take a look at some of the other TGPs and get a better idea of how to present yours in a way that'll prove to be more productive. But you know, if you're going to go with the style of promotion you are, why not just turn it into a blog?

i don't see the meaning of this site. way to less content and if you got many galleries you will have to scroll for ever to get to bottum. i think you should think again about your plan.

I've just tried it in Opera and it looks fine. What do you mean by "fucked up" exactly?

What you saw was correct - the idea is to show a few of the galleries as complete sets. It is obviously a new idea, and as much as i value your comment about the traditional style... i don't know. Do you think it'd still be as/more effective if i swapped it to a traditional single-thumbnail idea, but still with no adverts (i.e. like a bog-standard TGP but with no adverts, links or other crap)? If so, would it be best to host the gallery myself or to let the sponsor host it?

The original idea was to show a few galleries, but as people have said, this doesn't really work, and as my payout figures show ($0 so far), the masses don't seem to like it either. Would you agree with the same idea that jerzeemedia had of being more like a traditional TGP?

I agree with jerzeemedia. It seems you don't really understand TGP. How about spend some money to buy a TGP script? You could learn the script and understand the TGP marketing directly.

Thanks for the suggestion, but i'm currently coding my own TGP script now - i may as well, seeing as i've got the skills to do it and don't want to pay money out for something i could make.
