I don't think contests here really work

It only brings out 3rd world contest whores. Nobody else gives a shit other than the ass kissers who are trying to suck a bro off.

Real players don't care about $25 gifts for posting.

95% of all the postings in contest threads are people you have never heard of or see outside of a contest thread.

Waste of money if you ask me. You'd be better off just mailing a big check to your nearest Filipino outsourcing company and treat them all to lunch.

You don't get the point of that? I hardly think they care who wins in the posting contests, the point is it keeps their thread on top so that everyone gets to see it. In my eyes it is an excellent idea, because I don't even go past page 1 on this forum. If it wasn't for all of the contest whores I wouldn't know about all of the latest promos to promote.

There just needs to be a set lifespan for those threads. Maybe give them 5 days and then they are locked. Sometimes they just seem to linger and be on the front page for weeks. Enough already! We heard about your new midget granny fuckers site

I think contest are good idea, because they bring better exposure to sponsors! BUT, I certainly agree that they are full with fucking surfers and bots, and I am for that to have them limited only to people who are real webmasters, who has sites and who has made some sales in this biz, not opened for every single surfer.... I can count at least 10 surfers that post there who don't have fucking clue about this biz at all!

So, sponsors, think about changing your rules for contests, it's about time!

I go past page 1 every day on this forum. I also never click a contest thread unless it is accidental or I catch it on the first few posts of it being originally posted. Usually it is the more deceiving ones like (program announcement, cash inside). Mostly want to see possibly announcement if it is from a program I know typically does not run constant pump and dump contests.

I have recently checked some of the results threads and I was pretty taken aback. There are a shit load of green posters with less than a 1-2 year reg date that I have never seen post elsewhere in those things.

I also get pissy that the GFY rules about such contests do not seem to apply anymore, much like the sig rules.

Couldn't they just spend the same amount of money and make it a STICKY post at the top?

People have developed mental filters to skip the stickies. At most they'll see it one time and then skip it every time after that.

A contest thread tends to bounce around the page in various spots making it near impossible to ignore.
