W9's are only required of US entities (citizens or corporations).
Foreign entities are required to file a form
W8.
You must have hired the same people that other sponsors use when they sent 1099 forms made out to A) a US corporation (US corporations are not supposed to be issued 1099 forms) and B) for an amount under $600 (the minimum amount reportable on a 1099 form is $600).
Good thing my company doesn't have an ignoramus keeping our books.
