      For 2005

In terms of albums sold, even though country sales slipped, the genre still managed to finish at No. 2 behind Latin music, which saw a 12.6% increase and was the only genre to see its sales increase.

I would also go with country, then rock, then hip hop.

Country is still by far the most popular music in the US. It may not be the case in the bigger and coastal cities, but all of middle America still has it on lock

Rock is number 1 this year. Last year Rap & R&B combined (it's the same genre really) beat it.

Now if you take into consideration groups like The Black Eyed peas get lumped into the pop side of things you can see how the numbers are swayed in rock's favor every year.

Don't take my word for it, check out the stats from the Recording Association Of America (RIAA)

the question is.... which has the silliest lyrics. Country is mega cheezy and every rap song has some mention of "rims" in it. Rock... well rock is rock. Its just kuhl.

I don't think Rap and R&B are the same things at all.

Can be said of most music, even rock. Ya know, sex, drugs, rock n roll, so forth said in many damn songs.

I would rather listen to Rock but if I'm at a club I like Hip Hop because that gets the ladies dancing more.

As far as what's bigger I think they are pretty even. Music keeps blending together more and more anyway, so soon everthing will sound the same. Who thought 10 years ago you would have a song with a country guy like Tim McGraw and a rapper like Nelly.

These people are crazy. Rock is dead. I love rock but not enough to lie for it... Rock was last by far.
