Which is the best Social Networking Site Software?

I've got a mainstream client asking me to get a social networking site built for them. I've searched and seen several options, but would really like an "I've used this and it __________" opinion from one of the pros here.

http://www.boonex.com/products/dolphin is the one that seems the best, but...?

    Thanks for the feedback!

Looks ... neat .... until you look into the source. Something isn't write about having your functions/methods returning html. *cringes*

Messed with Dolphin for a bit and it was a pain. Happier with phpfox which seems to be one of the better ones, but it still sucks imo.

Have you reminded your client that these things don't grow themselves?

Thankfully, they're a big company with a big budget and the first addition to the network is a few thousand of their own employees.

I also let them know that they're in for monthly checks for the near future. ;-)

Not as of now, it's hard to find a good social network app, as its really based upon your needs.

                      Thanks, this looks great.

Any other good scripts out there for me to compare?

Nope. Using default skin and made some basic tweaks myself.

So at $300, we've got social engine and phpfox. At $5k to $20k, we've got Community Server.

Anything else that hasn't been brought up yet? Any experienced comparisons of Social Engine and PHPFox?
