OK, so lets break this down.
We know for a fact that condoms do not protect us from HPV and Herpes. Besides HIV and Hep C, those are the only two other STDs you can't get rid of, so it narrows it down to just HIV and Hep C because I don't fear anything I can get rid of. I have a Hep B vaccination.
HIV: Being a top having vaginal sex is fairly low risk. YES you can get it, but all studies have shown the risk to be very low. Some studies have show it to be as low as .02% unless you already have open wounds or cuts on your penis. There are other theories that say condoms do not protect you from HIV as the virus is so small it can pass through the latex. So translated, we really don't know if it can or not, but we do know that it is primarily a virus that is passed on through homosexuals, IV drug users and females (because they are on the receiving end).
Straight men do get it, or so they say, but I do not know of any who do. Do you? The only people I know who are HIV+ are women and homosexual or bi-sexual men. They say straight men get it, ok, lets say they do... but all studies show it's low risk. I'll take that risk, just the same as I will take the risk of driving my motobike in Thailand or driving my car on New Years when the roads are filled with drunk drivers. It's all a risk.
Hep C: This one scares me, but not enough I guess. Perhaps because it's not so in your face and drilled into our heads that it can kill us.Comment
