Seems now like you're actually not really apologizing, but just want to argue semantics.

Fact is, HE took it as you were at least implying he was racist. And I've told you that I saw it that way as well. I'm sure there are a few others here who at least wondered about it in that context as well.

Either apologize the whole way, or deny things.

You may not have intended it to be calling him racist, but that's the way it came off. I don't think I can explain it any clearer than I did above.
