Correct me then. I am not some US is greater person either. The whole Canadian militia myth thing is just amusing to say the least. Also looking at entire battle neither side lost ground, British troops burnt down the US treasury building and effectively the White house (presidential mansion). The US burnt down York (Toronto). Hell even the Admiral at the time in Canada wrote in 1817 that they would not be able to keep Canada if the Americans declare war on them again.

I spend a great deal of time researching battles, and even replaying them via assorted war games which is one of my primary hobbies.
