ok before WWII Hilter said he was done, done invading countries do expanding the Nazi empire done. Now that was bad for Russia and Stalin so to instigate Hitler back into fighting Stalin starting a fake alliance with Churchill via secret wire communications and telegrams and by secret I mean Churchill had no idea it was all fake now Stalin had spies in the Nazi army that were "intercepting" these correspondences between the two which were both written by Stalin because Churchill had no involvement in this at all. He did this to scare and piss off Hitler and get him back into the fight. Now by doing this Stalin had Hitler believing he was going to be attack from both sides by the The Brits and the Russians. Stalin kept leaking this information so that Hitler would believe that he had the jump on them which is how Stalin was able to get Hitler to attack the countries he wanted him to attack and leave open the places Stalin want to invade. It goes way deeper but this is enough to let you know maybe just maybe you need to open a few history books again
