You can't circumvent US laws by hosting offshore!

You can move to a country with different laws.

This assumes that other countries like the UK and Germany and Australia won't enact .XXX legalisation of their own. They will.

correct me if i'm wrong: if usa ISP's block .xxx sites, and affiliates (foriegn or not) put up links to those sites to get credit - they are fucked just as everybody else cause there would be some kind of "this page contains porn which is blocked by your ISP"?

As it stands though .xxx is not about forcing people to only visit .xxx sites but rather about forcing US based porn to move to .xxx. Censoring your surfing at ISP level is a whole different ball park and something that they really would have trouble introducing (although it's not totally outside of the realms of possibility - so called 'freedom' is being eroded almost daily in the USA and people don't seem to realise or give a crap).

In theory people would still be more than free to visit non-US based, non-.com porn sites. If your ISP decides to restrict this off of their own backs then you can simply change ISP. I've a feeling though that most ISP's won't be hurrying to do that.

Oh and living offshore does not excuse you from US laws either if you're a US citizen providing the service to people in the US. If you really want to move offshore and be 'safe' you'd better think about giving up US citizenship too.

UK maybe, rest of the EU, no. Just like we ignored 2257. There will be still plenty of extensions available that no ISP will block. .nl just one example.
