    ICQ Contact list

I'm on the contact list of a few idiot webmasters, who's contact list's I'd prefer not to be on. Is there any way to get myself off of another person's contact list?

    Thanks

No, but you can make yourself invisible to them or even put them on the ignore list. You'll never get bothered again

Put them on your ignore list. All my in-laws are on my ignore list.

        Lol, thanks you guys.

Does a person know when they're on my ignore list? Not that I care, but still...

I believe that there are not a whole lot of people left who would actually talk to you then...

I actually just put myself on my own ignore list and it's amazing how helpful it is.

All the voices in my head just got really quiet ;-)))

Hmmm, you assume my in-laws wanted to talk to me. Boy, you couldn't be further from the truth.

No, they just always appear offline. But they may try and send a message to you while you're in offline mode, and I am not really sure what happens. I do know that you never get it, and you are never aware that they are trying to send you anything, BUT, I am not sure what icq does with the message.

Here's what I mean: ICQ, at some point in time, has to respond and say 'the person is offline', which may take different amounts of time depending if you are actually online or offline, since ICQ has to contact you regarding this information at some point. I am not sure about the specifics. I believe that someone could possibly find out they are on an invisible list given this information, and given enough tries at sending a message, but who really cares.

ALSO - if you have yor 'web presence' whatever the fuck it's called turned on, then someone can see you online by going to the ICQ web page and looking you up. I think most people are smart enough (although I beg to differ about some people on this board) to realize that if ICQ says you're online, and their ICQ program says you're offline, then you're on ignore. So make sure you turn that off. If you turn this off, you cannot use the neat feature of icq to show people on the internet whether or not you're online or whatever on your webpage - but obviously that's the same deal as ICQ's webpage, anyway.

                  Enough info?
