I have lots of these experiences.
I had a big pole barn where I used to live. It had the biggest fucking wolf spiders you ever saw! A few of the Grandaddy ones were like the size of my hands or bigger! (and i have big hands)
Anyways I was out there at night (with no flashlight) to look for something. I didn't have any electricity in this barn so it was pretty dark. You could barely see from some light that was coming in from the outdoor yard light.
So I am out there and I feel something sort of crawl across my chest and down my leg and over my foot.
I instantly and instinctively just started stomping my foot on the ground, stomp stomp stomp, and I hear crunch crunch crunch, and then I instantly just realized I stomped a nice pair of prescription sun glasses which I had one arm hooked through the neck of the tshirt i was wearing. They had simply just fallen out. No spider was after me. :-{
