I'd love to see a launch, the last two times I was in the area I checked for upcoming launches but it's always bad timing.

So it looks like you live in up in Titusville? I lived in Indialantic/Melbourne/Palm Bay for about 13 years... I even got to see a night launch at the 3 mile point once. It was extremely bad-ass.

I watched that on TV this afternoon. That's the first live launch I have watched for years. Pretty cool shit. They said the shuttle was going something like 14,000 MPH before the external fuel tanks separated. That's insane.
                      I like pie.

Bad ass. You have succeeded in making me go to watch one. You did a good job of following it. The first couple times you lost it I found myself looking at my monitor from a different angel to try and follow it. Now a couple questions:

How far away were you from either of these launches? Is it loud as all fuck?

My house is about 30 miles North straight up the coast. The trajectory usually seems like they shoot it to the North a little because it seems like it comes my way a little bit.

What's cool is to be out in the ocean and see one. I have seen Titans launch at night when fishing but never a shuttle.

The shuttle makes a Titan look like a bottle rocket.

The sound at 30 miles away is still pretty loud once it gets here but the shuttle is out of site before you really hear anything at all here.

I forgot all about it and then saw all the people congregating out on the dock next to mine and then it dawned on me what they were doing. So i was in a rush.

it was amazing to see even on tv because today they showed it from the camera that was mounted on the external fuel tank and you can see the world getting smaller and at about 5 minutes it was already dark around with the plant getting smaller by the second.
amazing how fast they hit orbit and how fast the world is getting so small. just shows you how fast they go.
