After reading through many of the posts on this subject, I am sickened by many of the responses. The terrible incident at the WTC is not nor should it ever become a justified reason for promoting racism.

When Timothy McVie bombed Oklamhoma City, did you all post on the board that all white anglosaxons be rounded up and shot or otherwise eliminated. I'm guessing probably not. This is no different.

The type of racist thought patterns many of you are demonstrating are exactly the thought patterns which the terrorist groups use to justify destroying "the evil American". There is no distinction in the terrorists eyes between the actions of the US gov't and the U.S on a whole.

Yes, the terrorist organisations responsible should be "put out of business". But it has to stop there. A faction of a race does not define the ideals of the entire race.

We are all angry about this tragedy, but please let intelligence and not pure emotion run our lives.

"Grow up". I am not sure what that comment could possibly be referring to.

I stand by my all of my statements 100%. And, the responses on this board do continue to sicken me.

Comments such as ragheads...are simply not tolerable. Nor is the lumping of all people of a certain appearance in the same group. With your line of reasoning, we should all be put to death for Hitler's actions.

All of us white people look similar..Irish, Scottish, English, German, ... so we must all harbour the same beliefs as Hitler. This is the only line of reasoning that could possibly justify all people of certain linage being punished for the actions of the terrorists.

And yes, the news reels did show Afghanistans cheering in the streets. Deja Vue perhaps..I seem to remember a similar response from Americans when parts of Iraq were blown apart by our mighty military.

Go ahead, hate the terrorists. This is justified. But, as I said before, this should not and can not be used as a forum to promote racism.

Gary, I noticed that your location code on your posting says Afghanistan. That would mean that you are a terrorist or at least a supporter of the terrorists. Afterall, in the midst of a tradegy like this, who but a true terrorist would have the balls or the stupidity to claim they were from Afghanistan, except for a true terrorist. So, without haste, you should be put to death.

If you haven't noticed yet, I am taking this to the same unreasonable conclusion as many on this board. If you are truly from Afghanistan, then my heart goes out to you because a number of people on this board and on the streets of America seem to truly believe that because of your race, you should be killed.

If you have a intelligent response, by all means please respond. But, at this point I do not see how your response in any way adds any value to the conversation at hand.

Common now dew, everyone has different ways of processing and dealing and coping with stressful situations, and for many Americans this is about THE most stressful thing that could ever occur. If a few people want to vent a little on this board, I say let them. If you don't like what they post and are as you say "sickened" by it, then simply choose not to read this thread, that's your right. It is also their right to find ways of venting, and it is most unfair of you or anyone to sit in judgement and assume the moral ground, especially when the enemy we now all face is one that is more elusive and dangerous than any in history. It is and will be very frustrating times for some people to find solace in getting some justice served, so a little latitude is called for.

Why not start your own discussion instead of pissing on this one?

This is not "pissing" on your discussion. I am sure that if I would start my own thread, then the same members of this thread would then post their counter opinions to my post.

Okay, I know for a fact that this exact point of yours has been dealt with to death on this and other threads over and over. The fact that you are again bringing it up tells me that, although you say you've read over the entire thread, I think maybe you missed some of the proverbial boat.

Where you see racism, I see hatred of a specific faction of one race. I do value your words in the regard that they may serve to temper the severity here, but I don't begrudge anyone using the term "arab" in the context they are using it. Again, the general consensus here is that all or most of the terrorists we've all come to know and hate are of Arabic descent, thus people are using the term for convenience sake. Since a lot of "Arabs" tend to wear some form of towelage upon their brows, the term "towel-head" or "rag-head" comes into play, again pertaining to the enemy, NOT innocent civilians.

I'll ask again, can you bring yourself down out of the clouds and offer some leeway for otherwise powerless people to vent some anger in their own way? Hey, I too draw the line at anyone saying things like "I'll kill the next Arab that walks by me" or anything. That is just plain wrong-thinking. Anyone that grabs a cabbie and beats the shit out of him just for looking like an Arab is just plain wrong. But talking about the ENEMY of the USA in this fashion is tolerable in my book.

You all immediately want to bomb the fuck out of people - great - then the Mujahs can come back and blow up some more stuff - fabulaous thats the way to get things done. Hey why stop at locking up Arabs, you can lock up the blacks too - how about people under 5' tall and those with ginger hair - why not.

I don't think you can create an international coalition on anti-terrorism, then pick and choose which terrorist groups you go after.

I recently saw a piece of Canadian news reporting where, in Norhern Ireland (Belfast?) there was a new Catholic grade school built. A large group of Catholic school children were on their way to school and had rocks thrown at them and verious horribly obsene words pelted at them as well. Some small girls and boys were bleeding and crying after then incident, and none of them reached the school, they all had to be recalled back to wherever they started out from.

The ignorance of some adults in Ireland, the absolute ignorance, is so.... astonishing in it's severity. I do hope that all terrorists in the UK are hunted down and imprisoned (or worse), the needless fighting over the past 30+ years is endless and senseless.

"Hiding behind towels" is precisely what they are doing. Posing as your so-called "innocent" arabs while slaughtering people in the name of fucking Allah or whatever the hell it is they claim... they are hiding behind what WE are being told by people like YOU that we must maintain respect for.

                                                                                                                        Fuck you.

In my view of the world, that makes them chickenshit fucks, that aren't man enough to openly stand up for what they are about. They're not about Arabs, or Muslims, or any of that shit... you've said it yourself. "Not all arabs are terrorists".... well then fine. But you can't have it both ways bitch. They are hiding behind those fucking towels whether you want to admit it or not.

                                                                                                                        Towel lover.

And yes, we did warn Japan before dropping both A-bombs. We warned their government, and we dropped leaflets to their citizens. Even after the first bomb, they would not quit. After the second bomb the military did not want to surrender. It was only because the emperor stepped in that the war was brought to an end. Fucking idiot.

I do not like war, but we dont have alot of choices right now, they drew first blood (more than once).

How many of our own have died in "Peace Keeping"? Many have.

Our troops have been all over the world in the name of "Peace Keeping"

Our military men and woman are trained to protect and keep America free. How free do you feel right now?

I think we should of started a campaign after the uss cole bombing. Why they didnt is beyond me.

There are a few things we need to change within our borders. First is to look who is living among us. We have housed these asswipes for years it seems, unfortunately the very state I live in. Matter of fact the very town my husband grew up in.

If and When you fly Old Glory, you need to think about what the stars and stripes stand for exactly. I hope apple pie and baseball dont come to your mind first, as sadly it does to so many.

Dont think I am sitting back just spewing hot air. I have a 19 year old son that may be on his way there. He chooses to fight for his country, and I am damned proud of him. Wonder if your mamma thinks the same of you?

What if a war, any war, got so out of hand that our government had to pass out rifles and machine guns to those citizens left at home? (me and you) And, what if the enemy were coming down your street to kill you? Would you fight them to protect your freedom then?

                                                                                                                                                                    Surrendering --

Okay, if you would prefer to surrender, what if the enemy brought you before a firing squad and asked you to denounce all that you believe in or die? My point is, is your life worth so much that nothing else matters? Do you pledge allegiance to the enemy just so you can keep on eating, sleeping and shitting for a few more years? When does it become worth it to stand up and defend the freedom we hold so dear to us at all costs?

It's fine to value peace, I do as much as anyone, but in times like this I value the fact that our countries have some military clout as well. If the time ever came that I myself (old as I am) were needed to pull the trigger a few times for our freedom, I gladly would in a second.
