i drove to chicago once. when my girlfriend and i checked into our hotel she lost her purse, and she was convinced that someone stole it. so i ended up glaring at this guy that she thought stole it trying to figure out how to approach the situation. he was about twice my size... i probably would have gotten the shit beat out of me if i would have said anything to him, but luckily we found her purse under the seat of the car.
then we decided to go downtown. we tried to go to the hardrock cafe but the line went all the way around the corner so we said fuck it and just drove around checking out the city. people drive kinda crazy there.
then on the way back to the hotel i got lost in the hood somehow. my girlfriend kept telling me to go to the gas station to ask for directions and i was like "fuck you" and eventually found my way back.
it's an alright city, but i don't ever want to go back. not unless i'm just along for the ride
If you're in the western burbs the Best Pizza in the world is in Darrien at the Home Run Inn, not far from ya..
If ya take the Expressway and drive into the city check out Navy Pier....Rush street has died alot but Rush (Actually State) and Division area isn't bad..Good part of town but DON'T Park in a tow zone there or they will get ya.. If ya like Jazz there's a place on East Illinois Av (By Rush & Navy Pier) called Andys and it starts in the afternoon....Also good action on Lincoln Ave from Fulerton west..
Some 6 AM joints are in Stone Park a western burb on Mannheim road(US45) between Lake St (US20) and North Av (US64)..One called Carls is pretty cool..
Naperville and Lysle are in Dupage County, they close the bars at 2 AM..Chicago is 4 Am and some of the western burbs still in Cook County are 6 AM..You also have The Field Museum, Adler Planetarium and the Shed Aquarieum along the lake within a few blocks of each other if that's ya bag..
