    Do you think the Mexicans made a mistake? Did it backfire?

    All the reports I get from states with high populations of Mexicans like California and Texas seems to say that the residents ENJOYED the day without Mexicans.

    I know there was a massive rally down Broadway here in NY but other than that life went on as usual. My favorite burrito place, Chipotle, is staffed by white and black people. The burritos were made as usual and they were tasty as ever.

    But, I'm here in NY so I can't really feel the effects like in other places. A day without Puerto Ricans would have much more of an impact up here! LOL

              Not sure if most of you are aware of this, but this entire country was built by immigrants and Mexicans aren't the only "illegal" immigrants living in this country now. It really annoys me to hear and read all this ignorance.

                  I couldn't care less what the mexicans do. I'm not interested in competing with them for a job of picking apples. the more brown people around, the better...I just wish that they would learn fucking english..

                  I've been here in Puerto rico for only two weeks and I'll bet I spoke more spanish in those two weeks than some mexicans have spoken english in America EVER.

                      I agree with the Processing Princess, mostly because she's cute, but also because she makes a good point.

                      Immigrants definately founded this country, but it's certainly changed since then.
                      I think where the mexican day stand off in california failed is their lack of support of legal immigrants and more importanly none hispanic support.

                      Ont thing that pissed me of was there was about 2000 of them walking down the road last night downtown when I was trying to drive home from work after staying late at 8 pm at night.

                          Obviously immigrants built this country. I'm not anti Mexican in the least.

                          Mexicans should be able to do what they want in this country... as long as they go through the process. I can't work in this country without going through the process, which includes school and learning to speak english, so why should anyone else. There's plenty of Mexican/Chinese/Polish/Russian/Japanese Americans that know this and have done this. The illegals should follow suit.

                          They do jobs that no one else will so I think it's to our advantage to change the system and make the process more effective.
                          I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...
