No doubt one may quote history to support any cause, as the devil quotes scripture.

The majority of those fighting the US are Sunni's... Depending on what stats you read, the Sunni's make up 20-30% of the Iraq population. Thus, my statment that the majority of Iraq isn't fighting the US is true.. Try and get your little brain around that.

Yep Iran had a democratically elected leader back in the 50s. He wouldn't play ball with the US so they set up a coup and put in the shah which has led to all the problems we have with Iran today.

Pity the fool that has so much spare time on their hands to debate whether there will ever be peace in the Middle East in the foreseeable future.

I'll answer this question just off the thread title. I do hate Bush. But I also think it just so happened that just as we got an idiot into Presidency is when we actually needed a President. I was in the Army with an infant son when Bush threatened to take me away from him. I hated him for that...I think he can't handle himself in an intense situation and tried to ride the coat tails of those who talked the big talk but never had to walk the walk. (which was okay before when no big theats like 9/11 happened where people expected revenge) I think he thought he could ride out his 4-8 years without any more trouble than the first 6 months vacation he took while in office, but then something big fell in his lap. I think he's an idiot. I think he makes it easier for any Democrat to fill his spot. But I also think he is an easy scape-goat for anyone in politics to get mad at. He's one of those people I do dislike, but feel pity for

uh huh.. You guys sure love to try and spin shit when you can't debate your point.. No where was it ever said "foreseeable future"... It was how history would view Bush... Short term history (couple decades) isn't real "history".. I went out of my way to say it would take a very long time and pointed out how a century after the US revolution, they had their civil war... These things take many decades and many generations to work themselves out... So Bush's legacy won't be truly known for a very long time...
