Probably should't ask this here. But worth a shot.

My friend thinks im some big "computer guru". And he associates that with being some super "hacker". We made this friendly wager that i couldnt find the password to one of his email accounts. Not trying to be shown up, i was wondering if anyone here knows of a way it can be done or help me with it.

EDIT: I know what everyone will be thinking. No, i am not trying to jack or log into an ex-gfs account or anything. If you cant help i dont want to hear your comments.

The rest of you that dont want to post but can help, ICQ me at 301230533

if it is yahoo or hotmail or something like that best bet is to use forgot password and see what his secret question is and see if you know the answer :P

Nah, you all have it wrong. See, first you hax0r the Irix server using the default guest account, then trojan it with the telnetd exploit. From their you spoof a few packets, bust through some sshd's and hit the pentagon with winnuke. newbs ...

As for the forgot password thing, last time i checked that changes the password or emails it to an alt email no?

Install a key stroke recorder and run it in the background.

Unless they use a password manager then your screwed unless you can just old school hack into his computer and see whatever he is doing.

There was a yahoo messanger hack rolling around on some undeground channels that guessed passwords like all day to any account username.

That was like a year ago though.
