GO DETROIT! I THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE A COUPLE OF PICS WITH A COUPLE OF RED WINGS PLAYERS I HUNG OUT WITH THEM CINCO DE MAYO WEEKEND HEHEHE... WE ARE HOCKEY TOWN!
At the bar and not a wing jersey in sight, sad... and pink sombreros? Come to Calgary during the playoffs, we'll show you what "hockey town" is all about ;) During playoffs every bar (every where else too) is packed with red jerseys.
I have no idea how Detroit figures they can still call themselves hockey town when they're semi final playoff games are still full of empty seats. Last year it was cheaper to buy a playoff ticket to detroit and airfare from Calgary than it was to get a ticket to a Flames game during the series. Must admit, good team though... but Pitsburgh will take em out.
I'm a huge pens fan and am really looking forward to this finals. Detroit is good, but I feel my pens have too much speed and scoring ability to be stopped.
I'm from Michigan and I think the penguins are just too good...
"hockey town" hasn't gotten going this year, too many years of disappointments.... just like the tigers fans though here come the red wings fans.... they'll all show up out of nowhere now.
Fans of anything Detroit area are a joke. Michigan Wolverine fans are actually the worst joke of them all. You'll see shitloads of them on gameday but come wednesday you'll never find any. Go back just a few years to when the tigers were the biggest joke in baseball and I only knew of 1 person that actually went to at least 2 games every year (even while losing 100+ games) During the year they went to the series I couldn't sneeze without hitting a "Tigers Fan".
The sad fact is fans over on that side of the state are pathetic. You go over to England and find some soccer hooligans and THOSE are fans, Detroit simply doesn't have fans of anything other than jumping on a bandwagon.
