Went to Niagara Falls this weekend (pics)

This weekend was my moms birthday so we took my parents to Niagara falls, Here are some pics many more to come later.

the falls are something everyone should go see.

These are from July of 2005 ... I love the falls. The Canadian side is sooooooo much better than the American. They have gambling too. ; )

There's gambling on both sides now, but yeah...the Canadian side is much nicer. They do a good job with the park upkeep.

Plus, they have black squirrels.

Oh yeah, they do have it on both sides now. I just never really notice cause the American side is so shitty. You drive past a run down water park, the butt ugly casino and some other ghetto stuff when coming into Buffalo.

Its better than winning it in Vegas and then going to the cashiers cage and then when they find out you're a non-resident, they withhold 30%. At least here, its 100% tax free.

Wow, I didn't know Vegas did that ... huh, that's nuts.

When I won $1400 on the slots once, my machine froze and they automatically came down asked for my license and SS# so they could give me a tax form.

I couldn't play it down to $1200 where they wouldn't tax me...jerks.

Yup, withhold 30% automatically for non-residents. Residents just get the tax form for over $1200 which is fine, but withholding really blows. But then again, I try to cash in my chips in increments smaller than $1200

Did you guys ride the Maid of the Mist under the falls?

You can really get a feel for how powerful they are when the falls crash down right in front of your face. Nice ride on a hot day too.

Good to see you got some pics Pete. Sorry that we couldn't hook up over the weekend - an old friend dropped by that I hadn't seen for many years.

Sounds like you had a good time, though. Did you try the all-you-can-eat buffet at the Casino? The wife and I eat there at least once or twice a month usually.
