Way too early to know, and as was said before, it's more like months away than weeks away.
Names that make sense are Joe Biden, Wesley Clark (for foreign policy and military credentials respectively)
Tom Strickland, governor of Ohio....for the obvious reason.
Jim Webb, would help carry Virginia and definitely promote the message of change....two fresh faces to turn things around. (Also possible from Virginia are former governor Warner and current governor Kaine)
Montana governor Brian Schweitzer, could help carry Montana, Nevada, AND Colorado.
Some dark horse candidates are Michael Bloomberg, and Chuck Hagel.
Hagel would be a very interesting choice because although he is republican he has always been against the Iraq war. This would definitely send the change message home and Obama could tout the choice as proof that he's serious about ending gridlock and partisan sniping and getting things done in Washington.
It's hard to imagine the democrats going along with having a pro-lifer at the bottom of the ticket though.
Clinton, Edwards, and Richardson will all be on the short list, as a courtesy, but none of them will be offered the job.
Edwards and Richardson will serve in Obama's cabinet.....he'll offer Hillary a job out of respect and she'll decline and go back to the Senate where she hopes to become the majority leader.
