Bin Laden worked for the CIA against the Soviets

The title of this topic I find to be inaccurate. I don't see that bin laden actally worked for the CIA. He worked on behalf of the Afghani people and to his own ends. Yes he was provided training, weapons and other aid to give them an edge against the Soviet oppressors, and it was in the best interest of the USA to provide it. But to suggest that bin laden was an actual employee and official CIA agent is a bit ridiculous, no?

Recently, one person of non-North-American persuasion on another thread so impudently pointed out that bin laden is "ex-CIA" and made it sound as if the USA are the one's breaking the deal and betraying him! (that's the way it sounded to me anyhow). I can't believe there are people in this world whose minds are so poisoned to think this way and have such retarted slanted views of issues and events. It utterly amazes me, shocks me and angers the hell out of me that such ignorance is allowed to perpetuate itself right into the 21st century like it has.
