    Any Wikipedia gurus in here?

What are the rules on editing pages in Wikipedia? I looked and couldn't find an answer.

If a page in Wikipedia talks about a topic and I edit the page, giving me a nice text link to my main website, but also adds value. Is that cool with them?

They are all no follow now. The debate is out whether how much weight that carries. Some people say none some say you still get some love.

Correct, but I am adding value, not spamming and any traffic is better than none.

It is a great link to get as long as it stays. Its great link bait for others, a huge percentage of bloggers and other webmasters referance the pages there, and often link to the referance links at the bottom.

This year alone I have got several pr6-pr7 .edu links from people who found my "informative", valueble sites on wikipedia.

Not to mention the oodles of wiki's and sites that take the data and list it on their own sites, some quality links can be found in them as well.

I had a site directly related to the article in question so I edited the page and added my link in the corresponding place. The next day it was gone.

It's amazing how the monitor Wikipedia.
